Linking to Link

The problems I always head when it comes to classes, are memorizing the right terms with right definitions. It was always hard for me to memorize many words at once. When I first learned about the LINK in CLS class, I thought it was just too much because we have to link all the words with either pictures or with our imaginations. Since I am a stron visual learner and I love art also, I decided that my LINK will work most effectively with drawing pictures. So I used LINK with my MAT 221 and my HOA 106 class. My math class usually do not have that much of a words that I have to memorize but this math class which is a stathistic class, there are lot of words and logic involves behind it. Since I was only used to just calculating equations with numbers but the words that I have to know in this course are very new to me. So, I decided that using this stradegy, LINK on my math class will help me a lot.

The first pictures are all the words and definitions that I have to know for the chapters that I am going to take tests on in a few weeks. I wrote down some of the words and definitions first then linked it to either math graphs or charts, appropriately according to the words.

The second part of the LINK technique I used on was on the HOA 106 class. This is a real good class to use my LINK on because, this class is about the art pictures and the terms that was applied to create the art picture. So there are many art terms that is applied on the paintings. First what I did was I wrote down some of the words on the notebook then after I wrote down the definitions next to the pictures that uses that art technique terms. These set of pictures are, first the words that I have to know on the notebook, then the definitions are next to the paintings on the powerpoint slides.

LINK has helped me a lot. I am very glad that I got to know how to use this techniques. Since I am a visual learner, learning the words through your imaginations and pictures helped me remember the terms and correct definitions so much easier and so much faster. Linking the terms with correct pictures even helped me understnad the terms better and easier. From now on, when I have trouble with memorizing words, I am definately going to use this LINK technique on all my courses.

  1. For HOA courses yes you do use a lot of picture but you should maybe come up with other set of pictures that will help you memorize the other pictures so that you can link them together.
