Seongju Note Taking

This week's topic is about note-taking as a prepartion for tests or project. Among several tests and projects, I chose a project from my IST 195 class. This is a long term project that requires posting blogs every Monday just like this blogging in CLS 105. So I chose To-Do Notes method to organize and prepare for my Entrepreneurship Initiative Project. The professor gave us an instruction for the project at the beginning of the semester. This long-term project started on January 31st and ends on Marth 28th. The project is to come up with an technological and innovative idea to improve our lives.
Here is the final due date and overview of the project.

We come up with an idea and then post blogs every Monday that is related to the weekly lectures and lessons that professor gives. Lectures and lessons are the sources for the blogs and the our thoughts are the sources for the project. There is a GA meeting in the middle of the project to check up our ideas and compare with each other. We should attend because it's 5 points worth of our project. The professor also gave us the instruction that how our projects are graded.

We first had to create an account for blogger.com. Then we have 8 blogs to be posted on each Mondays. 6 blogs are about ideas related to materials that we covered in every class. Another post is the review and summary of other's blogs after reading them. Lastly we write a final summary post for our own idea.
Here is my picture of To-Do Notes for this project.
In directions, I put how I started this project by making an account on blogger.com and when and what I should post on a blog including GA meeting, comment blog, and final summary blog. For materials and sources, I put weekly lectures from professor because the blogs are based on the materials that is covered every class. In reminders, I should post blogs every Monday, and it should be at least 3 paragraphs long. The project is due 3/28/2011 and we should submit our URL by 3/31/2011.
It helped me to oraganize the project well. It was easy for me to read and it reminded me a lot by rereading instructions and reviewing my project. It's well organized now that I should just focus on what I should do every week and how I should end by 3/28/2011.

  1. I have enjoyed reading your blog! But I personally think that you should used my strategy which was the SU/Cornell notes. Not only it helps you gain the knowledge easier but the notes will help you later on. I have tried the SU/Cornell note taking stratedy and it seemed like it helped me pretty well. Nice blog!

  2. I also found the to do notes helpful, however, I found that they worked better when I changed the headings of the boxes to words that I thought were more appropriate for my class. Maybe by specifying the word choice you can condense the information you write down in your chart as it looks like it took you a long time to write out, given the amount of writing. Good Job!
