A Chronic Procrastinator...Is that Me?

Last week after completing the Time Waster's Chart I realized that something that I spent a lot of time procrastinating on was my Sketchbook for my ARC 182 Representations class. Since I really want to do a good job on my sketchbook I usually end up spending too much time on it. Because it takes so much time for me, I typically put it off until last on the list and then the assignments just don't get done. As you can see on my D's Do and Due List that I made at the beginning of last month, pretty much the only thing that I don't do each day is my sketchbook assignment (Highlighted in Pink). Since I have to hand it in at the beginning of class on Wednesday, I realized that I'm really crunched for time and needed to use one of the procrastination techniques on my sketchbook so that I could hand it in on time. Therefore I decided to use the Procrastination Attack Plan and made it onto a chart because I am a Visual Learner and so that it could be a constant reminder to me on my studio Desk as I completed my work.
I used time increments to divide the large tasks and set out a schedule to do it during the free time I have. For each increment completed I get a small reward that won't take up too much time. My ultimate goal is to have others look through my sketchbook and critique it so at the end of each day my goal is to have another person flip through it and tell me what I can improve. Because I am so motivated to impress my peers it will be hard not to act on my plan. The Action of creating the Attack Plan Chart made me realize how much I still have left to do and even more eager to finish my tasks. The Time increments will help me stay on the schedule, especially since I have a designated amount of material to complete within the prescribed time. I plan on using an online timer as well to aid my progress. Because the reward system has worked so well foe me in the past, I Know that the motivation that I have to do these assignments will be successful.
