Motivation- Unwoo

Motivation!

Motivation could be most important things in our life. Motivation could make our life more successful. At the same time, motivation could make you life ‘Fail’. For me, Motivation was the most important in my life. Motivation is ‘Force’ in our life. It moves me to do from just think about something. It makes me passive to active. Even if something is too hard for me, the only reason I could do the ‘something’ is motivation.

In all my life, in the school, whenever I tried to do something, I always think first my family, rewards in my future life, and grades on my transcribe. It is so funny that this kind of motivation is very habitually popped up on my head. It seems that every single action and challenge what I try to do is connected with my family and future life. For example, when I was in the wresting team in my old high school, the team always shouted ‘For school, for family, for god!’ At the first time, I thought ‘why should I do wresting for my family and god?’ However, I always called my mom after match. Unconsciously, I thought about my family and did wrest for my family.

There are two kind of motivator. One is an external motivator. The other is an internal motivator. I had defiantly the external motivator in my high school year. I always thought first my family, rewards in my future life, and grades on my transcribe, which I could show off to the other people. However, when I was learning about the motivation skills, I realized my change. After I got into the college, I realized that my motivator has been changed from external to internal a little bit.

For this week, in motivation chapter, I choose the academic fears for my strategy. I chose academic fears, because I thought it will be great time to see my deep in mind. Also, I really wanted to know my real motivator once again. Also, I really wanted to know what I fear!

My academic fear is failed class, failed exam, absent from class, cannot follow class, disability to understand lecture, hard to study, forgetting homework, and note-taking. According to the fears, there were so many worst outcomes. I could get fail, retake the class, have a trouble to get good grade, miss the class flow, give up myself for the class, and impossible to understand. After I wrote these things down, I noticed that these are all came from my ECN 301 class.

However, ECN 301 class is heading to best outcome from my continuous efforts. As I am using a planner, Su/Cornell notes, relationship with professor, Exam experiment, pre-reading, Link, and making a study group. Throughout all these things, I am fully understood about this class. I am not missing any one part of lecture from this class, which is very nice. However, I am still nervous about last exam after few weeks. Also, am worried about misunderstanding the lecture. So, I put continuous effort every single material in this class. In my opinion, as I am a kinetic learner I should be better active learner in each class. I expect that using a every resource in the CLS class will help me to get out of fears. For using this skill, it was great time to reviewing my effort, academic fears, and motivation. Also, I can tell about importance of motivation.

Motivation = Force

  2. Yea I believe that our past fears make us have that same fear on the same subject matter when the time comes. So i think it is best to just forget the past and just strive forward. Start over new.

  3. It was enjoyable reading your blog. It must be really helpful to write down specific academic fears. I feel the same with most of your fears and it feels better to see them listed because it helps me to realize the problems. Good work!
